LYONS UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
2118 North 2nd Street
The First Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1857 and at the time included the tallest steeple in Iowa. It was destroyed by fire in 1892 but rebuilt. That structure was completed in September 1893 during the pasturate of the Rev. G. R. Manning. In September 2022, the Lyons United Methodist Church held its final service before it merged with Trinity United Methodist Church, around the congregation's 185th Anniversary. It has since reopened as The Church at Lyons and is used as an events center.
