2026 Theme: "I volunteer as tribute"
All entries are due by October 31st!
Who can enter?
Teens (Ages 11-19) from the QC area can create a short film, a piece of writing, or a piece of art that showcases their creativity and connects to the 2026 theme: “I volunteer as tribute.” Teens may work on their own or in teams of up to 5 members. Teens may submit only one entry per contest category. A Google account is required to submit entries through the online form.
What are the contest categories?
- Film Contest: videos must be under 5 minutes
- Art Contest 2-D: entries must be submitted digitally. Library staff is happy to help scan if needed.
- Art Contest 3-D: submit a photo of a sculpture, ceramic piece, or other three dimensional art.
- Writing Contest: written entries must be 1000 words or less.
What are the Red Carpet Awards?
Teen creators and their family and friends are invited to the Teentober Red Carpet Awards at 6 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2026 held at the Putnam Museum and Science Center in Davenport. Teens will walk the red carpet and see their work on the giant screen. Special awards will be given out by QC Librarians, and participants will receive their own book of the 2026 entries. Participants are encouraged to attend the Teentober Red Carpet Awards Event, but you do not need to be present to win. Grand prize winners in each category will also receive a $50 gift card.
Each Clinton participant per category will also be entered to win a movie pass (generously provided by Clinton 8 Theatre) and a $10 gift card!
